Fiddlin' Owls Square Dance Club is a square dance club in the Decatur - Tucker area of North East Atlanta, Georgia.   We do Modern Western Square Dancing with Mainstream, Plus, and DBD (Dance by Definition).   We also do Cued Round Dancing between Square Dance tips.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the club is to afford an opportunity for its members and guests to participate in square and round dancing, to maintain proficiency in dancing, and to have wholesome fun.

VENUES

DANCES:

Our regular club dances are held the second and fourth Fridays of each month, from 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. in the Christopher Hall of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church at 2729 Lawrenceville Highway , Decatur, Georgia 30033.   This is U.S. highway 29 and the church is about 1/4 mile inside of the perimeter on left.

CLASSES:

Our Square Dance Lessons are tought on each Thursday evening from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in the Education building of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church.

Note:

Both halls have tiled floors and are fully air-conditioned.

MEMBERSHIP

Fiddlin' Owls Square Dance Club Membership

Any person shall be eligible for membership under the following conditions:

  1. They must have a knowledge of square dancing on the level to which the club is accustomed.

  2. They must pay dues as designated.

  3. They shall refrain from alcoholic beverage before and during dances.

GENERAL RESTRICTIONS

  • Smoking is not permitted within the church facilities.

  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted within the church facilities.

  • Dancers wearing shoes with heels less than 1 inch (25mm) square will not be permitted on the dance floors at any time.

CHILD CARE & NON DANCING CHILDREN

Do you have "baby sitting" available while I dance?   No, we don't have the facilities, staff, or insurance to support baby sitting.   If you have children, it will be necessary for you to arrange for their care.

NON-DANCING CHILDREN CAN NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE DANCE FLOOR

HISTORY

The Fiddlin' Owls Square Dance Club was formed by the merger of the former White Owls Square Dance Club and the former Foot 'n' Fiddle Square Dance Club on January 1, 1997.   The club operates under BY-LAWS established on March 28, 1998, and approved by the membership.

The purpose of the club is to afford an opportunity for its members and guests to participate in square and round dancing, to maintain proficiency in dancing, and to have wholesome fun.
